Scores of homeowners across Chesterfield are tonight without water or facing supply issues after a pipe burst in Tupton.

Severn Trent Water say the incident is affecting residents in the S41, S42, S43 and S44 areas.

A spokesman for the company said: “We are on site trying to fix the problem and are sorry for any disruption.”

Both police and Severn Trent Water have received numerous reports of flooding between Four Lane End, Wingerworth, and the roundabout at Tupton after the pipe burst at about 4.30pm.

The drama has caused traffic chaos.
