‘Inspire Diversity’ is a project that 24 schools across Chesterfield, North East Derbyshire, Bolsover and Baslow, are involved in to celebrate difference and diversity.
All classes from Year 3 to Year 6 at Hady Primary School have visited Derby Open Centre in order to learn about and celebrate our similarities and differences.
The children were given guided tours around Derby’s Gurdwara, Hindu temple, cathedral and mosque. They also participated in workshops at the Open Centre learning about different celebrations and festivals.
Hady’s Inspire Diversity fair, held last month, was an opportunity for parents and carers to see the different activities that the school has been enjoying and look at the photos from the various visits that have taken place.
Attractions included stalls of the pupils’ art work and food from the cultures they have studied; a café run by Hady School Friends and an opportunity to hear African drumming and see a dance.
