Schoolchildren focus of Rotarians’ aims

Members of the Dronfield-based Drone Valley Rotary Club are planning to fund a scheme alerting children to the dangers of drug use.

A major initiative for the club this year is the DARE into Dronfield project where the club plans to finance the delivery of Drug Awareness Resistance Education to all year 6 pupils in the Dronfield area before they go on to secondary education.

For the sixth year, the club is also running the Junior Community Award scheme for local children in their final year at junior school.

The club’s events programme for 2012 includes a jazz lunch and taking part in the Ramshaw Lodge jubilee weekend.

All this is likely to keep the present members very busy and help is always needed. Anyone interested is always welcome to attend one a meeting as a visitor.

The Rotary Club of Drone Valley meets every Monday night at the Talbot Arms Public house, Stubley Lane, Dronfield Woodhouse. If you would like to attend a meeting telephone: 0744 076 5053 or see the club website www.dronvalleyrotary.org.uk for further information.
