Santa surprises young boy who has suffered hundreds of seizures

Billy Bolsover, six, has shown great courage and determination despite suffering hundreds of seizures and being diagnosed with epilepsy, causing him to develop anxiety when he attends Dronfield Infant School.

But the youngster, who is awaiting a brain operation, had something to smile about on Monday when he got to meet Santa and one of his Elves who presented him with an Xbox One console to cheer him up.

The special visit was organised by children’s activity provider, Premier, as part of their Christmas Genie campaign.

Billy’s mum Lucie said: “He hasn’t been able to leave my side except for school all year, and to see him carry on without ever complaining has made me so proud.”

She added: “He has shown so much courage and fighting spirit, we really do think he deserves a break.”

Headteacher at Dronfield Infant School, Rebecca King, said: “It has been a difficult year for Billy and both school and family have worked hard together to ensure that Billy receives the appropriate care and attention that he needs. It’s great to see that Billy’s bravery is being awarded.”

Gemma Howell, from Premier, said: “Premier are honoured to surprise Billy with his Christmas wish - he is a truly inspirational, courageous little boy who totally deserves an extra special surprise this Christmas.”
