Safe stolen during Chesterfield burglary

Police are appealing for information after a safe was stolen during a burglary in Chesterfield.

Sometime between 10am and 4.30pm on Tuesday, a safe containing £50 and £20 notes was stolen from a house on Hazlehurst Avenue while the homeowner was out.

The key to the safe was not stolen.

Officers would like to speak to anyone with information about the burglary.

Police are also interested to hear from banks who have been asked to change £50 notes or any businesses that have had enquiries about opening a safe without the key.
