Rush-hour traffic in Chesterfield delayed after collision

Police have confirmed that a collision between two vehicles in Chesterfield has caused disruption to rush-hour traffic today, Tuesday, January 14.

The collision happened about 8am, on the A61, near Hornsbridge roundabout and the town centre, between a Vauxhall Corsa and a Peugeot 206.

A police spokesman said: “The collision happened on the southbound carriageway near to Tesco and Frankie and Benny’s restaurant.

“One lane remained open but the other had to be closed.”

The driver of the Corsa was taken to hospital by ambulance but his injuries are not thought to be life threatening, according to police.
