Rotarians have reason to celebrate

It was a double celebration for Buxton Rotarians with the siting of a new wishing well in the same year as a special anniversary.

Members raised a glass of St. Anne’s Well water in the Pavilion Gardens to toast the 111th anniversary of the formation of Rotary International on February 23 1905 - the same year the Gardens’ Conservatory was built – and the siting of their new spiral wishing well in the Pavilion Gardens Bistro Café.

Bruce Thomson said: “We were able to buy the well thanks to a generous legacy from our late president Andrew Heywood’s family. They were happy at the thought that Andrew’s gift would continue to raise money for good causes for years to come.”
