Residents evacuated after gas leak

Firefighters from Chesterfield were called after reports of a mains gas leak in the area.

They attended Hollis Lane, Chesterfield, at around 10.10pm yesterday (Friday, May 18).

Crews assisted Derbyshire Police to evacuate the area and ran out safety jets as a precaution while awaiting arrival of Cadent Gas Ltd to isolate the leak.
