RESCUE ME: Young Yogi needs a home

Young Yogi is a unique akita who is in need of a loving home.

The three year-old is certainly special, although large in size he really is a gentle giant, who loves to play.

Gary Taylor, animal care manager at RSPCA Chesterfield and North Derbyshire branch said: “Every animal who enters into our care is unique, not defined by specie or breed but by their own brilliance and character. And Yogi is no different, he is defined by his wonderful and quirky qualities.

“These include the way that his snout is that bit too short, causing his nose to crease oh-so-slightly when he smiles, the quizzical tilt of the head when encountering something new, the barely perceptible puppy-like bounce when he runs.

“But he is also a dog with a beautiful personality – he’s massively playful and affectionate, and combines youthful exuberance with a placid contentedness, even if he can be slightly shy at first.

“Upon entering into our care Yogi had little in the way of manners, so may require some basic training. However, he has made tremendous progress whilst in our care and would probably best suit a more active home.

“There is no other dog quite like Yogi. Please get in touch if you are interested, he would love to meet you, we’re sure of it!”

Yogi would be best placed as an only dog and could be suitable to live with children of secondary school age.
