Before entering into the Spital Lane RSPCA centre, Ruby had been with another branch, meaning that finding a new home has been a long process for her.

But the wait hasn’t dampened Ruby’s spirits – she’s as relaxed as ever.

Ruby is a cat who adores people and would happily receive fuss 24/7 if it was on offer. She loves to play, bathe in the sun, and likes to start the day with a cuddle.

Gary Taylor, animal care manager at RSPCA Chesterfield and North Derbyshire branch said: “Ruby is lovelier with each passing day, and we are determined to find her not just a good home, but a perfect one.

“This gorgeous girl would be suited to a home with existing cats – proving they are friendly and playful, like she is – but we have no background as to how she gets on with dogs, so it depends on individual circumstances.

“It’s not every day that you get a chance to adopt the sweetest cat who ever has lived, but that is exactly what Ruby might just be!

“If Ruby sounds like the type of character who you would love to have in your life – and why wouldn’t you?– Then we urge you to get in touch.”

Ruby does have a medical condition, albeit one that has improved greatly, that will need treatment in the near future.
