REMEMBRANCE: Where you can honour the fallen in Chesterfield this week

Chesterfield residents will pause and remember those who have lost their lives in conflict this week.

Services will take place on Friday (Armistice Day) and Sunday (Remembrance Sunday).

Here’s the details of the services in Chesterfield and the surrounding area.

Armistice Day services

11th hour service - at the war memorial on Rose Hill, opposite the town hall from 10.40am. Service will include the Last Post, a two-minute silence at 11am and Reveille.

Remembrance Sunday services

The Crooked Spire, Chesterfield - 2.30pm. All welcome to attend but residents are advised to be seated by 2pm as the church becomes very full. Service will be followed by a parade from the church, through the town centre and along Knifesmithgate to the war memorial at Rose Hill.

Staveley - Gather at St John’s Road at 10.15am. Parade will march off towards Staveley Market Place at 10.25am and reach the Garden of Remembrance at 10.50am when a short service will begin.

Killamarsh - parade will leave the church hall on Sheepcote Road at 2.30pm.
