Ponchos and sombreros brightened up a blustery evening in Bolsover where the town’s troupers celebrated their group’s 30th anniversary with a lively adventure down Mexico way.
As the rain hammered down last night (Thursday), prayers to the sun god fell on deaf ears during the production of Viva Mexico.
Even a song of praise to the deity by the Priestess - an outstanding performance by Diane Hulett in the vocal highlight of the show - failed to reverse the atrocious weather conditions.
In a production which was as hot as a jalapeno chilli, Bolsover Drama Group brought energy, enthusiasm and loads of laughs to a rarely performed musical comedy.
Viva Mexico continues its run at The Bolsover School tonight, Friday, October 7, and tomorrow.
