Recruits swap tips at apprenticeship event

A fresh-faced recruit has been given the inside scoop on working for a social landlord by its first-ever apprentice. Ripley-based Futures Housing Group invited their newest apprentice Amelia Wayne, to meet their first apprentice Bryn Henton, to mark National Apprenticeship Week.'¨Amelia, from Ripley, will start her business admin apprenticeship on March 20. Amelia, 19, said: 'I was looking for an alternative route and didn't understand apprenticeships at first and I thought they were a boy-thing. I want progression and not something that's just making tea and filing, this position seemed perfect for me as I want to work my way up.'

The pair met at the organisation’s apprentice reunion event, as part of National Apprenticeship Week.
