Pupils at St Mary’s High School buried a time capsule this week to mark the 150th anniversary of the school opening.

Students in the History department compiled the capsule – with contributions from across the school – as a record of the school community in 2015. The capsule includes various items from different subject departments, interviews with staff and students, a personal letter from the present head teacher, Mr Sean McClafferty, to the new head in 2065, as well as photographs of the casts in recent school productions. Year nine student Tania Berwick said: “Hopefully we will be able to witness the Time Capsule being uncovered.”
