A Chinley pub has been honoured for its commitment to the community with a national award.
The Old Hall Inn, in Whitehough, Chinley, has been presented with the Community Pub Award after appearing in the tenth edition of Alastair Sawday’s Special Places Pubs and Inns of England and Wales.
David Hancock, editor of Sawday’s Pubs and Inns of England and Wales, said: “From amazing beer festivals, wine tasting dinners and medieval banquets to parties and live music, The Old Hall Inn thrives as the village hub deep in rural Derbyshire.
“With over 950 pubs in the guide, winning is a terrific achievement for the hard–working landlords, landladies, chefs and staff.”
Alastair Sawday commented: “Please join our tenth anniversary celebrations by raising a glass to the Old Hall Inn for this very real achievement.
“In this, our biggest ever edition, award–winning pubs have had to stand out more than ever before.
“So each has demonstrated remarkable creativity.”
