£50K grants up for grabs

Companies in Derbyshire could be in line to bid for grants of up to £50,000 after Government funding of £3 million was provisionally secured for the county.

Derbyshire Economic Partnership (DEP) – backed by Derbyshire County Council – has been provisionally awarded the support from the Government’s Regional Growth Fund.

It is part of a nationwide pot of £506 million which was announced last Thursday and would be used to fund DEP’s new Global Derbyshire Small Business Support Programme.

The programme plans to offer grant support covering up to 50 per cent of investment costs of small and medium sized Derbyshire businesses which are seeking to grow, collaborate, innovate and export to create new employment for local people and attract inward investment to the county.

Grants will focus on four key strands: start up businesses; business innovation and development; companies helping deliver the aims of Digital Derbyshire; export promotion.
