£15 million project to upgrade reservoir in Disley
The scheme by United Utilities will replace, and increase the size of, an underground storage reservoir at Jacksons Edge, which is around 100 years old.
Residents are being invited to attend a public exhibition at Disley Community Centre on Wednesday July 2, between 3pm and 7pm, to find out more about the project.

Hide AdProject Manager Katherine Mitchell said: “It’s time to give Jacksons Edge reservoir a modern upgrade so it is ready to serve a growing population well into the 21st century.
“Our aim is to do this important work as quickly as possible, causing as little inconvenience as possible for people who live or work nearby.”
State-of-the-art technology is being used to construct two concrete tanks in Ireland, each six metres in depth and measuring 29 metres by 56 metres.
These will be lowered into the existing site, reducing the duration of the project from three to two years.
Engineers will also construct a new pipe linking the Peak Forest Canal.
