Police tackle planned raves in the Derbyshire Dales

Police have teamed up to tackle planned raves in the Derbyshire Dales.

On Saturday night, officers were called following reports of a rave which was set to take place at Nine Ladies Stone Circle in Stanton Lees. Increased patrols were carried out in the area and 15 people were moved on from the site under the Section 34 Dispersal Order.

Sound equipment including amps and cables were seized from a vehicle which officers stopped as it made its way up to the site.

The previous weekend on August 23, officers also advised around 50 people to move on following a rave at a disused quarry near to Surprise View in Hathersage, known locally as Bolehill.

Locals are being urged to be vigilant and to report any suspicious activity, particularly close to disused quarries, by calling 101.
