FIREFIGHTERS and police have launched an investigation into the cause of a blaze which ripped through a derelict club.
The fire was discovered at the former Miners’ Welfare, on High Street, Clowne, about 6.10am, today, Monday, December 5.
A Derbyshire fire service spokesman said: “The fire service and police scenes of crime officers are to investigate the area to establish a cause.”
Staveley and Bolsover crews armed with a hose reel jet extinguished the blaze at the building in just over an hour.
Police were also called out to control traffic and to help with security at the site.
