A TEENAGER needed hospital surgery after he was allegedly punched and knocked unconscious.
Police told how the 17 year-old had been on Chapel Street, Ripley, just before midnight, on Saturday, October 8, when he sustained his injuries.
The youth, from Derby, had been among a group which had become involved in a disagreement with another group, according to police, and was allegedly assaulted.
He was treated at the scene by a passing nurse and taken to hospital in Derby before undergoing surgery at Queen’s Medical Centre, in Nottingham.
Two youths from Ripley aged 16 and another from Ripley aged 17 were arrested on suspicion of wounding and released on police bail pending further enquiries.
