Police name the pedestrian who died outside Peak pub

Police have named the pedestrian who died following a collision with a car outside The Ladybower Inn on the A57 road at Bamford.

Robert Humberstone, 68, suffered fatal injuries after the collision with a Honda estate car at around 9.25pm, on Wednesday, March 12.

The collision happened near the Ladybower Dam and along the road which leads to the notorious Snake Pass.

Mr Humberstone suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics.

The road was closed for several hours which caused traffic disruptions while Derbyshire Constabulary carried out investigations.

Derbyshire Constabulary confirmed Mr Humberstone was from Sheffield.

Derbyshire police are appealing for witnesses to contact their Collision Investigation Unit on the non-emergency number 101.
