Police name man who died in Renishaw crash

Police have formally identified a man who died in an early-morning crash in Renishaw.

Officers were called to Main Road at about 5.40am on Tuesday after receiving reports of a collision between an Audi and a Ford Fiesta.

Both drivers were taken to Sheffield Northern General Hospital where the Fiesta driver was pronounced dead.

On Wednesday afternoon, police formally identified him as 47-year-old Jason Blount, of Renishaw.

The Audi driver was taken to hospital with leg injuries.

Officers closed the busy road for about six hours to carry out investigations.

Witnesses or anyone with information should call police on 101, quoting incident number 54 of April 19.
