Police look into robbery

POLICE are investigating a robbery at a house in Bradwell where a woman was threatened with a knife.

The 66-year-old woman was upstairs at her home in Netherside at about 6.30pm last night when she realised a man was standing behind her, holding a knife.

He threatened her and she ran past him and down the stairs. He followed her, punched her in the face then running off. He had stolen cash from the house.

The victim, who suffered bruising to her arm, a cut lip and pain to her face, called the police.

Officers, including a dog unit, searched the area and arrested a 19-year-old man on suspicion of robbery. He remains in custody and is being questioned by officers.
