Police issue warning on mobile phone thefts

Police are urging High Peak residents to be vigilant after a number of distraction thefts in the area.

Two men walked into Caffé Nero, in Spring Gardens, last Wednesday and distracted a customer by placing housing adverts over her phone and asking questions about the content.

After the men left, the customer realised her phone was missing and a member of staff chased the men, catching up with them outside and retrieving the phone.
