Police issue descriptions of suspects after Shirebrook knife attack

Police investigating a knife attack which left a man needing hospital treatment have issued descriptions of men they want to trace.

A 37-year-old was allegedly attacked by three men on a football pitch on the park off Vale Drive, Shirebrook, just after midnight on Monday.

He suffered a puncture wound to his chest and was taken to Queen’s Medical Centre in Nottingham. His injuries are not thought to be serious.

The offender was wearing a grey Everlast top, dark Nike tracksuit bottoms, bright yellow or green trainers and a black and green baseball cap with a circle logo with wings sprouting from it.

One of the other men was tall, of stocky build and with a bald head. They were believed to be Eastern European, possibly Polish.

Anyone who recognises those descriptions should call Derbyshire police on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
