Police investigate after homes on same street are burgled
Police are investigating and offering advice to Whitwell residents after two homes on the same street were burgled during the same night.
Investigations are being carried out into the incidents which took place sometime between 3pm on October 13 and 11am on October 14.
A tablet computer and jewellery were among the items stolen from the Middlegate Field Drive properties.
DC Jamie Farrell, of Derbyshire Constabulary, said: "It is possible both homes have been targeted by the same offender and we would really like to speak to anyone who may have been in the area and noticed anything suspicious that evening - in particular if anyone noticed any vehicles nearby at the time.
"I would urge anyone who may have any information about the incidents to contact us."
Residents are also encouraged to be security conscious at home, particularly when away on holiday or out during the evening by taking steps such as leaving lights and radios on timer switches or asking a neighbour to park on your driveway.
Anyone with information about the incidents should call DC Farrell on 101, quoting reference 17*443470, or contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
