THREE darkly-clad burglars escaped with jewellery after they raided a public house in the Peak District.
The offenders were spotted inside the Bridge Inn, at Calver Bridge, Calver, in the Hope Valley, about 6.45pm, on Saturday, by the landlord before they managed to flee with goods.
A Derbyshire Constabulary spokesman said: “The landlord had been downstairs serving in the bar when he heard noises upstairs and came across three men all dressed in dark clothing and they ran off.”
The offenders fled along Duke Drive and were pursued by two customers on foot and a police helicopter searched the area but they managed to escape.
One of the offenders was described as aged in his mid to late teens, about 5ft 1ins tall and of slim build wearing a dark-coloured hooded top.
Another was described as 6ft 1ins tall, of stocky build and wearing a balaclava.
Witnesses or anyone with information are urged to call Derbyshire Constabulary on 0345 123 3333 or Crimestoppers in confidence on 0800 555 111.
