Police bring down man threatening to jump from Chesterfield car park

Emergency services were called to a Chesterfield Car Park today to reports that a man was spotted on the roof, appearing to consider jumping.

Derbyshire officers said they were caled to the New Beetwell Stret car park at around 3.20pm.

They added: "We received reports that members of the public were concerned about someone at the car park.

"They are now safely down from the top of the building and taken into care of EMAS."

Three police vans and an ambulance were seen rushing to the scene, and officers confirmed a number of units were involved.
