Police appeal over Clay Cross robbery

Police are appealing for witnesses after a robbery in Clay Cross.

A man walked along Meadow Road and onto Rock Crescent to the bus stop where he noticed two men standing by the lamppost.

He was asked by one of the men for a cigarette, when the he said he didn’t have one the man then demanded that he hand over money.

One of the men then punched him in the face and the victim threw some cash on the floor and walked away.

One man was described as white, 19-20 years old, 5ft 9ins tall and was clean shaven. He was wearing a black baseball cap, a shiny black Adidas jacket with gold strips on the sleeves and a dark denim jacket.

The other was described as black, aged 19-20 years old, of a stocky build and was clean shaven. He was wearing dark coloured clothing, a black baseball cap and basketball type trainers with large tongues.
