POLICE APPEAL: Are you a friend or relative of High Peak man currently in hospital after crash

Police are trying to trace friends and family of a man who is in hospital after a crash.

David Ellison, 67, was cycling along Station Road in Birch Vale at about 11.30am on Tuesday, January 5, when he was in collision with a large van.

He struck the wing mirror of the van and was knocked off his bike, suffering head injuries.

He was later taken to Hope Hospital in Salford where he remains in a stable condition.

Following the incident, police are appealing for help to locate Mr Ellison’s friends and family. He was often seen riding his bike with plastic carrier bags around New Mills.

Anyone with any information is asked to contact officers on 101, quoting incident 206 of January 5.
