Police appeal after man robbed in Ashover

Police are appealing for information after a man was robbed of his jewellery while walking in a remote beauty spot.

On Sunday, January 4, at 4pm a man had been walking on Ashover Rock near to Fabrick Wood in Alton. As he returned to his car that was parked in a layby on Alton Lane he was approached by two men, one of whom threatened him and demanded that he handed over his jewellery.

The man handed over his nine carat gold, 21 inch neck chain and a matching bracelet. The men made off in a white Peugeot van.

One of the men was described as black, 6ft tall, of a large build, in his 30s with short afro hair which was shaved at the side. He spoke with a Sheffield accent.

The second man was white, between 5ft 8ins and 5ft 9ins tall, between 25-30 years old, and was wearing dark coloured jeans, shoes and hooded top.
