It follows a similar incident in which another car was keyed in Temple Walk two weeks ago.

PC Chad Fullerton, from Matlock Bath Safer Neighbourhood Team, said: “The damage caused to this vehicle is unacceptable and can be extremely distressing to the victims.

Drivers can take steps to reduce the risk of their car being targeted by vandals, such as parking in a well-lit area or, where they can, on a driveway.

“I’d also urge drivers and their neighbours to be on the lookout for anyone acting suspiciously. If you see anything that seems a little odd or witness damage such as this being done, please call us and we can catch the offenders and bring them to justice.”

Witnesses to the above incident or anyone with information should call Derbyshire police on 101 or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
