Planned Bank Holiday rail strike called off

A planned rail strike which was set to take place on Bank Holiday Monday has been suspended.

The RMT union has announced that the planned strike at Network Rail will not go ahead, the union’s executive has decided.

Train companies had started cancelling and changing services over the bank holiday because of a planned strike by thousands of Network Rail workers in a row over pay.

Members of the Rail, Maritime and Transport had warned that train services would be at a standstill.
