Nadiya Hussain, winner of last year’s hit TV show Great British Bake Off, showcased her skills at the three-day celebration of baking.

She also enjoyed a Bakewell pudding in its spiritual home.

Nadiya said: “It was my first ever visit to Bakewell and I really enjoyed meeting everyone at the festival, sharing some of my recipes and sampling the legendary Bakewell pudding.”

This year Nadiya had the honour of baking a cake for the Queen’s 90th birthday.

She said: “It was an amazing opportunity.

“I didn’t have a brief apart from not making a fruit cake so I opted for an orange drizzle.”

Many other baking stars – including Edd Kimber, the first winner of Great British Bake Off – also attended the weekend festival.

As well as baking, the festival also celebrated all things vintage and featured cabaret and comedy nights – as well as a custard pie fight!

Organisers hailed the event, which launched in 2013.
