The Children’s Society is asking people to keep an eye out for signs of physical injury and watch out for children who seem withdrawn, anxious or frightened of adults in the house.

Neighbours may hear or see violence or shouting towards a child.

DCI Paul Bullock, of Derbyshire Police, said: “During the current restrictions, some children and young people may be being abused and exploited.

“They are trapped with their abusers and they need your help. It’s always better to report your concerns than to stay quiet.”
