North East Derbyshire District Council has set up a team to help provide advice and support to those affected by the coronavirus crisis.

The authority is inviting residents who are self-isolating and in need of assistance to register with the support team by visiting here or calling 01246 231111.

Councillor Martin Thacker, leader of the council, said: “As an authority we are doing everything we possibly can to help our residents when they need us most.

“The community support team is about getting help to the people who most need it and making sure they have access to the wider network of help available.

“We want our residents to feel they have somewhere to turn in their hour of need and our council can provide that facility for the residents we serve.

“Our essential services are continuing to meet our residents and business needs, however, we will be re-directing resources to the new emerging needs of the community.”
