Killamarsh tragedy: How members of the community can pay their respects to those who have died

The church wants to provide space for those affected to say a prayer or light a candle in memory of the four people who have tragically died.
The Right Reverend Libby Lane, Bishop of Derby, said: “I was shocked and deeply saddened to learn that four people had so tragically lost their lives in Killamarsh.

Hide Ad“My heart goes out to all those affected by these events in the community of Killamarsh, especially the family members, friends and all those at Outwood Academy City.
“Be assured that everyone involved will be held in my prayers and the prayers of local church members through this most difficult time,” she added.
Meanwhile, a vigil is also planned to take place in Killamarsh at 6.30pm on Monday.
It will be held at Baker Park, the children’s play area behind Chandos Crescent.

Hide AdA post on the Killamarsh Voice Facebook page said: “Access, at the moment, will need to be from the bungalows or off Walford Road walking a short distance along the old canal path and down into the park.”
People are also invited to leave flowers in the town – as so many have been doing already.
