Chesterfield Royal Hospital is urging creative youngsters to get involved in its Christmas card competition.

Five winning designs will be sold by the hospital with all proceeds going towards the Chesterfield Royal Charity, which supports patients and staff.

A spokesperson for Chesterfield Royal Hospital said: “The year 2020 is certainly one that all of us will never forget.

Coronavirus has affected us all in many different ways and we’ve all experienced a variety of emotions throughout this unprecedented period of time.

“We've been overwhelmed by the support our charity has recieved thoughout the pandemic and we hope people still want to get involved in our good work.

“We’re asking creative young people up to the age of 18 to come up with a design for our annual charity Christmas cards.

“We hope you’ll love the opportunity to showcase your talents – especially as we’re fond of lots of colour, vivid imaginations and originality.

“Not only will the chosen designs feature on our Christmas cards, the winner will also recieve a special prize.

“We know it’s really early to start talking about Christmas – but the sooner we get the designs, the sooner we can get them professionally produced ready for the festive season.”

Entries must be submitted by October 30.

The winners will be chosen by Angie Smithson, chief executive of Chesterfield Royal Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, and Ken Godber, director of the Chesterfield Royal Charity.
