Family and friends of the Staveley schoolboy are urging people to wear blue for Logan’s funeral, which will take place on Saturday, September 11 at 11am at Staveley Methodist Church, followed by a burial at Staveley Cemetery.

Funeral director Harold Lilleker & Sons say they hope it will be an ‘amazing send-off’ and have announced details of a ‘Mexican wave of engine revs’ as his procession passes Poolsbrook Park.

"Please park their loud car, motorbike or quad along Fan Road (marked between point A and B at Poolsbrook Park) with their engine turned OFF while we pass silently to collect his family.

“We will then pass to point B at Poolsbrook Park for our start at 10.30am.

“Our marshals will be there to help you and will ask you to then be VERY LOUD! – a Mexican Wave of engine revs as we pass to take him to his funeral.”

The funeral director also asked for no ‘racing or reckless driving’ to take the focus away from Logan.

The 14-year-old died at Sheffield Children’s Hospital after being rescued from the Chesterfield Canal by emergency teams.

Since his tragic death, many people have described the schoolboy as a 'hero'.

The funeral directors said Logan had lived in Chesterfield all his life, attending Speedwell Infants School, Staveley Junior School, Springwell and Hasland Support Centre.

“His hobbies and interests included motocross bikes, riding his push bike and electric scooter, being outdoors, spending time with friends and family both on holidays and at parties,” they added.

"He loved music, dancing around, social media, playing on his X-Box and above everything making people smile and laugh.

“Logan was the most lovable and caring boy that was always here for everyone he loved and cared about.”
