Derbyshire's Jack Reynolds laid to rest

Jack was 108 when he passed away surrounded by family at his Hollingwood home on April 25.

The great-great grandfather’s funeral took place at Brimington Crematorium on Wednesday afternoon.

Hide AdPeople lined the streets – while observing social distancing laws – as the funeral cortege arrived at the crematorium to the song Wild Rover, which was one of Jack’s favourite tunes.
I'll Take You Home Again, Kathleen played at the end of the service. This song was very dear to Jack as his beloved wife was called Kathleen.
Jack’s favourite colour was blue and many blue balloons were also released into the sky in his memory.
Before Jack’s funeral, his daughter Jayne Goodwin paid tribute to her father – describing him as ‘my hero’.

Hide AdShe added: “When lockdown is over, I’ll ensure my dad gets the memorial service he wanted and deserves – and a get-together to celebrate his amazing life.”
Jack – dubbed ‘Britain’s oldest daredevil’ – made headlines across the globe and captured millions of hearts for achieving four Guinness World Records after his 100th birthday, raising thousands of pounds for many good causes.
He became the oldest person to get a tattoo at 104, the oldest to ride a rollercoaster at 105, the oldest to take on a zip wire at 106 and the oldest to be a supporting artist in a TV show at 107.
