People lined the streets – while observing social distancing laws – as the funeral cortege arrived at the crematorium to the song Wild Rover, which was one of Jack’s favourite tunes.

I'll Take You Home Again, Kathleen played at the end of the service. This song was very dear to Jack as his beloved wife was called Kathleen.

Jack’s favourite colour was blue and many blue balloons were also released into the sky in his memory.

Before Jack’s funeral, his daughter Jayne Goodwin paid tribute to her father – describing him as ‘my hero’.
