Pentrich WI joint president Doreen Staton opened the meeting, which also acted as the group’s Christmas party. All members sang Jerusalem.

There was a supper of jacket potatoes, fillings, salad and more.

There was a quiz on every table for members to answer. Three committee members did a short sketch, then everyone sang a selection of Christmas carols.

The silver salver, cut glass bowl and photographs were on display, these were won at Bakewell Show in the summer. Winning them makes the institute very proud.

Next years full program was handed out to all members with some interesting and varied speakers for each month.

Thanks was given to joint president Julie for the catering and to all committee members for organizing and all the hard work they did that evening.

It was an evening of fun, laughter and friendship.

Joint presidents Doreen Staton and Julie Waterfall closed the meeting by wishing everyone a happy Christmas, happy New Year and a safe journey home.
