A Peak District pig farm wants to double in size to accommodate 2,000 pigs.

Wheston House Farm, in Tideswell Moor, has submitted two planning applications to the Peak District Planning Authority for two new out buildings for rearing and finishing pigs.

Each of the buildings would accommodate 500 pigs, meaning if approved the farm would have 2,000 pigs.

The applications can be viewed by searching for references ‘NP/DDD/1114/1168’ and ‘NP/DDD/1114/1165’ on the planning portal of the Peak District National Park Authority website,
