PEAK DISTRICT: Call for visitors to take home their litter

Visitors to the Peak District are being urged to take their litter home.

The call comes after the national park authority revealed over 60 tonnes of litter is collected from their car parks and trails a year, with the amount of litter having doubled during the warm spell.

Bob Young, deputy area team manager, said: “We want everyone to enjoy the Peak District National Park but ask that they put their litter in bins or take it home and re-cycle it where possible. It’s an easy thing everyone can do to show they care about the place.”
