Pair arrested after man was assaulted in Staveley

Derbyshire Police officers are appealing for information after a man was assaulted in Staveley last night (Thursday, April 19).

Colleagues from the East Midlands Ambulance Service alerted officers to the incident in Market Place at 9pm.

Paramedics treated a 36-year-old man who had been assaulted during an altercation.

He was taken to the Northern General Hospital, Sheffield, where he was kept in overnight for treatment to a minor injury.

A 33-year-old man and a 14-year-old teenage boy, both from Chesterfield, have been arrested on suspicion of assault in relation to the incident. They remain in police custody.

Officers are continuing their enquiries.
