Currently there seems to be an epidemic of house building. Every village has at least one estate being built, every town many.

Then we are told we need to increase this even more by Toby Perkins and the newly elected Labour Party.In my 60 years, there has never been such a surge in building. Why, when our birth rate is falling? Once farm land has been built on, it can’t return to what it was.

Nowhere is infrastructure considered: schools, doctors, roads, sewage, water run-off etc.

I fear for what Britain will look like in a decade’s time, with the equivalent of another four counties built over.

If we must build, build on brown field, and make sure we don't leave houses empty.I could point out at least 40 empty properties now. Many have been purchased for the aborted HS2 and now remain empty.
