Clients are people, not numbers...

The Dynamic duo Charles Jones, Cabinet Member for Adult Care and Bill Robertson, Strategic Director of Adult Care say they know their clients (‘Delivering a service’, Times talk, November 10).

No, they do not.

We know them because we go into their homes to get them up, washed, dressed, fed and watered, in most cases they feel a lot happier.

Sometimes we are the only contact they have with the out side world.

We are not unhappy about changes to our working arrangements and unlike that pair, are not 9am to 5pm.

We’re out at 6am to our first call and evenings can be 10.30pm for the last - Charles Jones and Bioll Robnertson will be nice and cosy by then!

These are people, not numbers.

The computer only has the time managers have put into it!

Sometimes we’re supposed to be at the next ‘client’ before leaving the one before, work that out.

I only hope Charles Jones and Bill Robertson never need a Home Help, because we are being run into the ground.
