1. How would you describe Chesterfield using only three words?

Vibrant, creative, entrepreneurial.

2. Describe something you have seen, heard about or experienced locally that has made you smile.

Most recently, the support from the local people for the direct local economy and key workers throughout the region. It has been great to see everyone sticking together and looking after everyone as if we’re a huge family.

3. How have you or your team been thinking creatively to keep your business succeeding or to maintain strong relationships with your customers and suppliers?

For us, our marketing has played a key role in the continuity of our business.

Our buyers are able to view all our sale properties via online tours – this has certainly kept us moving.

4. What have you or your company been doing to support the mental health of your team?

It has been a tricky time for all, consistent contact with our staff has been paramount throughout this pandemic and involving them in future plans to grow the business positively has helped keep the team thoroughly upbeat.

5. How are you, your business or your team supporting local people?

We’ve been working with our partner businesses to ensure agreed sales are either proceeding as normal as they can do, or working with chains to agree prolonged timescales.

6. Which business idea or community initiative has impressed you recently and why?

I have enjoyed seeing the local farm shops and restaurants convert to delivery businesses. Not only does this help them retain revenue, it helps people struggling to leave the house and lets them know the community is there for them during this tough time.
