TWO off-road motorcyclists have been banned from driving for six months after they were found driving without motor insurance.
Derbyshire Constabulary revealed how the off-road motorcyclists were stopped at Pindale as part of the police Operation Blackbrook campaign which involves patrols and checks to reduce irresponsible off-roading.
A police spokesman said: “The campaign involves police officers, PCSOs, Peak District National Park Rangers and local off-road user groups who join forces to carry out a mixture of education and enforcement project days.
“Off-road riders and drivers are reminded of their rights and responsibilities and encouraged to enjoy the Peak District National Park in a safe and considerate manner, using legal routes.”
The two off-road motorcyclists were stopped as part of checks in September, last year, and pleaded guilty at High Peak Magistrates Court, last month.
