The Sitwell Arms in Morton unveiled the community hub a couple of weeks ago and it is already proving a success.

The pub is run by landlords Russell Martin and Paul Lightwood.

The idea was inspired by a visit from Pub is The Hub - a not-for-profit organisation which offers independent specialist advice on rural services diversification or community ownership of pubs.

Russell said: “The shop has only been open a couple of weeks and we are building regular custom slowly as word spreads. We would be happy to have any suggestions about what we should stock. Meanwhile, we are so grateful to Pub is The Hub for giving us the inspiration and supporting us with their grant towards the overall cost.”

The Pub is The Hub contributed a grant of £3,000 to help towards the costs of setting it up.

Opening times are 5.30am to 7pm from Monday to Friday and 6am to 7pm on Saturdays and 7am to 4pm on Sundays.
