A North Derbyshire beauty queen has been selected to compete in the Miss International and Miss Intercontinental pageant.
Sophie-Sharee Holmes, from Killamarsh, will take part in the national final of the contest in July.
The 20-year-old, who is studying part time for a degree in criminology and law, said: “This is my first pageant.
“I was looking online at how to get into modelling and I saw the website so I decided to enter.
“A week later I got a letter saying I would be in the grand final in July.
“I am very excited - this is a great achievement and opportunity and I can’t wait to meet the other girls.”
Sophie-Sharee will be in the running for two titles at the event - Miss International-UK and Miss Intercontinental England.
The winners will go on to represent the country in the international final in Japan where they will meet woman from all over the world and have an experience of a life time.
Sophie-Sharee said: “I’m quite a confident person and I’m really bubbly. I don’t get stage fright so I’m looking forward to making some appearances in and around Sheffield before the competition.”
